Black Rock Race
We are starting our new session 2024 - 2025 with a new projector provided by a grant of £500 by the Black Rock Race. Many thanks to John Mackay and others involved in organising this event. The support you give to many voluntary organisations in Kinghorn is amazing.
Kinghorn Heritage App
The Kinghorn Heritage App has now been updated. The update is available for download from the Apple Store for iPhones or Google Play for Android phones. All images, 360 degree views and the drone footage should be showing correctly on all smart phones once the update is installed.
For those that have not yet downloaded it, the Kinghorn Heritage App has historical information about old Kinghorn, old photos, audio stories by some long term residents and heritage trails around Kinghorn. It is free to download from the Apple Store or Google play.
Kinghorn Memories 1900 - 1999
The Kinghorn Oral History Project was one of the strands of the Kinghorn Heritage Project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project started in April 2017 and is due to be completed in July 2020.
The oral history was carried out in conjunction with Kinghorn Primary School and in part with the Kinghorn Lunch Club. Two rounds of interviews took place, the first in October 2017 when 26 Primary 7 pupils interviewed 14 long term residents of Kinghorn. The second round of interviews were carried out in May 2019 with 24 Primary 6 pupils interviewing 13 long term residents. The pupils were brilliant at the interviewing and the results were excellent.
The interviews have now been transcribed, edited and published as a book: 'Kinghorn Memories 1900 - 1999'. The book contains stories, anecdotes, memories and much more about the Burgh of Kinghorn.
Everyone who took part in the Oral History Project is entitled to a complimentary copy of the book. If you haven't received your copy yet please contact us through this website and leave your name and address.
For a donation of £8 there are a limited number of books available for people who did not take part in the project. If you would like a copy please contact us through the contact page on this website.
